What might help your scores sooner?

When high credit-card balances are a problem, lowering reported balances may help after your creditors update your reports. Both individual-card and total utilization matter. Keeping every payment on time is essential.

There is no universal fastest payoff order. Your report, scoring model, available cash and reporting dates all matter. AI can calculate scenarios; it cannot reliably predict exact score gains or guarantee a deadline. Read FICO’s explanation of balances and utilization.

Credit repair starts with accurate information

You can review your reports and dispute inaccuracies yourself for free. Accurate negative information generally cannot be removed simply because it hurts your score. Avoid guaranteed deletions or promises of a specific score increase. Read the CFPB’s explanation.

This center provides education and mortgage preparation. Use the Michigan mortgage credit-score guide to connect your credit questions with your home-buying goal.

Protect your home-buying funds

Paying off debt can leave less money for closing costs and reserves. Before making a large payoff, closing accounts, opening new credit or paying collections, discuss your mortgage timeline with Mike. Your credit, monthly obligations and cash to close need to work together.

You do not need to have it all figured out.

Tell Mike what you want to accomplish and when you hope to buy.
